Rapture

This figure, like Redemption, has been with me for a few years and it was time for a new space for her because we change and gain new insights, new stories to explore. Rapture is so strong and moves through our lives in what can feel like a storm and this painting explores a notion, introduced to me by Brene Brown, of “forboding joy”. The experience of joy but with a tagline…for now…expecting the time to come when its over again. The clock and the dark rat both represent that bittersweet forboding.
